Chief Minister Sukvinder Singh Sukhu Meets Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda, Seeks Support for Strengthening Healthcare in Himachal

Chief Minister Thakur Sukvinder Singh Sukhu met Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Jagat Prakash Nadda in New Delhi to discuss key healthcare priorities for Himachal Pradesh. During the meeting, the Chief Minister highlighted the need for central support to strengthen the state’s health sector.
The two leaders held detailed discussions on the implementation and progress of the Ayushman Bharat scheme, the National Health Mission, and the development of healthcare infrastructure across the state.
CM Sukhu specifically requested assistance from the Centre for setting up a Cancer Care Centre and sought modern medical technologies and advanced equipment for hospitals to improve patient care. He also urged the Union Minister to consider the unique geographical challenges of hilly states like Himachal while formulating scheme guidelines and requested the release of pending central funds.
Union Minister Nadda assured full cooperation and support from the Centre, reaffirming that the interests of Himachal Pradesh would be safeguarded.
Also present at the meeting were Chief Secretary Prabodh Saxena, Principal Advisor to the Chief Minister Ram Subhag Singh, Resident Commissioner Meera Mohanty, and Secretary to the Chief Minister Rakesh Kanwar.
