CM Sukhvinder Sukhu Reviews Hamirpur Development Projects via Virtual Meeting

Shimla, May 20:
Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu chaired a virtual review meeting from Shimla with officials from Hamirpur district to assess the progress of various ongoing development projects. He directed the district administration to accelerate implementation to ensure timely completion of all works.

The Chief Minister instructed officials to identify suitable land for constructing a cow sanctuary in the district, aimed at addressing the issue of stray cattle and providing relief to farmers. He also emphasized the need to earmark locations along the Hamirpur-Ghumarwin, Nadaun-Amb, and Bhota-Una roads for setting up electric vehicle (EV) charging stations. He reiterated the government’s commitment to promoting electric mobility as a step toward environmental conservation and said that strengthening the necessary infrastructure is a top priority.

CM Sukhu further directed officials to expedite the execution of a ₹7 crore eco-tourism project proposed in Hareta Gram Panchayat of Nadaun block. The project envisions the development of eco-friendly tourism facilities, including green spaces, treehouses for night camping, walking and nature trails, a cafeteria, and a children’s park.

Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Anirudh Singh attended the meeting from Shimla, while Deputy Commissioner Hamirpur, Amarjeet Singh, and other senior officials joined virtually from Hamirpur.
