Dharamshala, May 15
The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) declared the Class 10 annual examination results on Thursday, recording an overall pass percentage of 79.08%. This marks a 4.47% improvement over last year’s 74.61%. Once again, girls have outshone boys, asserting their dominance in the merit list.

Saina Thakur, a student of Newgal Model Public Senior Secondary School, Bhawarna (Kangra), secured the top position in the state with an impressive 99.43% marks. The second spot was claimed by Riddhima Sharma from R.K. Senior Secondary Public School, Ghandalwin (Bilaspur), who scored 99.29%.

The third rank was jointly shared by two students: Mudita Sharma from Modern Public Senior Secondary School, Swarghat, and Pranika Sharma from Minerva Senior Secondary School, Ghumarwin—both achieving 99.14%.

This year, 117 students made it to the top-10 merit list, which includes tie ranks. Out of these, 88 are girls and 29 are boys—further underlining the consistent academic excellence of girls across the state.

Board Secretary Dr. Major Vishal Sharma shared that around 95,000 students appeared for the exams conducted in March 2025. Examinations began on March 4 across the state, with the exception of remote areas like Lahaul-Spiti and Pangi, where schedules were adjusted due to logistical constraints. Over 2,300 examination centers were established for smooth conduct of the exams.
