CM Sukhvinder Sukhu and Deputy CM Express Condolences on Martyrdom of Subedar Major Pawan Kumar
Shimla, May 10: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri have expressed deep sorrow over the martyrdom of Subedar Major Pawan Kumar of the 25 Punjab Regiment, who laid down his life during cross-border firing by Pakistani forces in Jammu and Kashmir. The fallen soldier hailed from Shahpur Nagar Panchayat in Kangra district.
In his message, Chief Minister Sukhu said that Subedar Major Pawan Kumar made the ultimate sacrifice in the defense of the nation’s unity and sovereignty. “A grateful nation will forever remember his sacrifice,” he said, adding that this is a moment of both pride and grief for Himachal as well as the entire country. The Chief Minister assured that the state government stands firmly with the bereaved family in this difficult time and will provide all possible support. He also prayed for peace to the departed soul and strength to the family to bear this irreparable loss.
Deputy Chief Minister Agnihotri said that the nation can never forget the sacrifices of such brave sons. “This is an irreparable loss for both the state and the country,” he added.
