Srinagar, May 10:
Despite the official announcement of a ceasefire between India and Pakistan, the situation on the ground tells a different story. Loud explosions were heard late Saturday night in Srinagar and several nearby border areas, triggering panic among residents. Former Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah reacted on social media, writing: “What the hell just happened to the ceasefire? Explosions heard across Srinagar.”
In another development, Indian air defense systems successfully intercepted a suspected Pakistani drone attempting to breach Udhampur airspace during a blackout. Eyewitnesses reported seeing red streaks in the sky followed by loud blasts. Indian security forces acted swiftly to neutralize the threat before any damage could occur.
Meanwhile, a complete blackout was imposed in Barmer, Rajasthan, further indicating heightened alertness in border districts. While the ceasefire announcement brought hope, the ground realities suggest that tensions remain high and true calm is yet to be restored.
