Solan, May 9: Amid growing tensions between India and Pakistan, the Shoolini Taxi Union in Solan has taken a heartfelt and patriotic initiative. The union has announced that soldiers returning to their duty posts after leave will no longer have to struggle for seats on overcrowded buses and trains — they will now be transported free of charge by local taxis.

Union president Kamal Kumar said that in these critical times, when soldiers are safeguarding the nation around the clock, it is the duty of every citizen to offer support in any way possible. He noted that service personnel often face difficulties such as lack of train reservations or long and uncomfortable journeys, which prompted the union to step in.

Under this initiative, soldiers need only contact the Shoolini Taxi Union, and transport will be arranged based on their destination. The union has pledged to offer this service round-the-clock, free of cost, to ensure that no soldier faces delay or hardship in reporting back to duty — and that they travel with the dignity they deserve.
