In-Depth Discussions on Data Analysis, Bioinformatics, and Research Ethics Held at Central University of Himachal Pradesh
Dharamshala, May 7:
The Central University of Himachal Pradesh successfully hosted a two-day national workshop titled “Technical Research Methodology and Advanced Statistics in Research (TARMASR 2025)” from May 6 to 7, 2025. The event was organized by the university’s Centre for Computational Biology and Bioinformatics in collaboration with the Himalayan Life Science Society.
The primary aim of the workshop was to equip students, researchers, and early-career scientists with essential technical and statistical skills to enhance the precision, responsiveness, and outcome-driven nature of their scientific research.
Participants received hands-on training in modern techniques used in experimental design, data collection, and statistical analysis. The sessions provided deep insights into biostatistics, data visualization tools, and bioinformatics workflows. Key topics included drug discovery, metagenomics, nutraceutical structures, and molecular biology—offering attendees exposure to interdisciplinary research approaches and broadening their academic perspectives.
In addition to technical content, focused discussions on research ethics and data management helped guide students toward becoming responsible scientists. Renowned experts such as Prof. P. R. Sudhakaran, Dr. A. Jayakumaran Nair, and Dr. Chandni Sidhu delivered experience-rich lectures covering lab protocols, high-throughput data analysis, and scientific writing. Their insights added both technical depth and critical thinking to the participants’ research mindset.
TARMASR 2025 significantly strengthened the participants’ technical proficiency, critical reasoning, and collaborative learning abilities, preparing them not only for rigorous academic research but also for industry-oriented projects. This two-day event undoubtedly served as a catalyst for inspiring young researchers to explore new frontiers in science.
