Solan: Two Arrested with 8.184 Kilograms of Opium on a Bus

Solan, April 28:
In a major operation against drug trafficking, Solan Police seized 8.184 kilograms of opium from a bus. Two individuals of Nepali origin have been arrested in connection with the case.

According to reports, the two men, identified as Shirjana Budha and Shankar Bahadur Vika, were traveling on a private bus (registration number HP 63E-0330) operating on the Shimla route. During a routine search of the vehicle, police recovered nine pouches of opium from their possession.

Superintendent of Police Solan, Gaurav Singh, confirmed the incident, stating that a case has been registered against the two under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Further investigation is underway to determine the source of the opium and its intended destination.

This operation underscores the firm stance Solan Police have taken against drug-related crimes, with similar efforts expected to continue in the future.
