PM Modi Sends Strong Message on Pahalgam Attack: No Mercy for Terrorists, Says Jairam Thakur
Shimla, April 27:
Following the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has issued a strong and clear message against terrorism. PM Modi stated unequivocally that the perpetrators would not be spared under any circumstances and that justice would be delivered for the innocent lives lost. The nation, he added, is awaiting a significant decision in this regard.
Leader of the Opposition, Jairam Thakur, conveyed these remarks during a press conference held in Nahan on Sunday. He emphasized that the central government is taking a firm stand against terrorism and has made it clear that it will not be tolerated at any level. Thakur arrived in Nahan around 11:30 AM, where BJP workers gave him a spirited welcome. He then attended a live broadcast of the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program alongside a large gathering of party workers, following which he addressed the media.
During the interaction, Jairam Thakur also launched a sharp attack on the current Congress-led state government. He accused Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu’s administration of being a “visionless” government, unable to tackle soaring inflation, rising unemployment, and a worsening economic situation. He pointed out that while the Congress had come to power claiming to champion the rights of government employees, today those very employees are forced to protest on the streets as their demands remain unmet.
Thakur further alleged that the Sukhu government is on the verge of pushing the state’s debt burden to an unprecedented ₹1 lakh crore mark, setting a negative record in the process.
The event was also attended by BJP state president Rajeev Bindal, Member of Parliament Suresh Kashyap, MLA Reena Kashyap, and several other senior BJP leaders.
