Three Youths Arrested with Heroin in Solan; Were Planning to Supply Drugs
Solan, April 26:
As part of its ongoing campaign against drug trafficking, the Parwanoo Police Station team in Solan district achieved a major breakthrough. On April 25, while on patrol for crime prevention, the police acted on a tip-off and intercepted a car near Kamli Bridge, finding three young men inside.
During the search, the police recovered 10 grams of heroin (chitta) from the vehicle. All three occupants were arrested on the spot. They have been identified as Gursevak (25), son of Kuldeep Singh, resident of Sahnewal Tehsil, Ludhiana District; Narjeet Singh (34), son of Jasvir Singh, resident of Lohara Tehsil, Ludhiana District; and Prabhjot Singh (36), son of Rishpal Singh, resident of Tandari Kalan Tehsil, Ludhiana District, Punjab.
Along with the narcotics, the police seized the Hyundai Aura car used by the accused. During interrogation, it was revealed that they intended to supply heroin to youth and students in the Solan and Parwanoo areas. Timely action by the police thwarted their plans.
The Superintendent of Police, Solan, stated that the district police are fully committed to creating a drug-free society and protecting the youth from falling prey to substance abuse. Regular patrols and special checking drives are being conducted as part of this mission. Authorities are also thoroughly investigating the criminal backgrounds of the accused. Further action is underway.
The Solan Police have appealed to the public to support the fight against drugs by promptly reporting any suspicious activities to law enforcement.
