CM Sukhu Directs PWD and Jal Shakti Departments to Clear Pending Contractor Dues by April 30

Shimla, April 25: Chairing a review meeting of the Finance Department today, Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu directed the Public Works Department (PWD) and the Jal Shakti Department to clear all pending dues of contractors by April 30, 2025.
He instructed that the first installment of the payments must be released before April 28, with the remaining amount to be disbursed by the end of the month. The Chief Minister further directed both departments to expedite the preparation and timely submission of bills to the treasury for payment.
Additionally, he advised that departmental bills should be submitted only after the 10th of each month, aligning with the state’s receipt of central tax funds, which is credited on the 10th of every month.
The meeting was attended by MLA Sunder Singh Thakur, Principal Media Advisor to the Chief Minister Naresh Chauhan, Additional Chief Secretary Omkar Chand Sharma, Principal Secretary (Finance) Devesh Kumar, Finance Secretary Dr. Abhishek Jain, Chief Engineer PWD N.P. Singh, Chief Engineer Jal Shakti Department Anju Sharma, and other senior officials.
