Una, April 16 – A horrifying incident has sent shockwaves across Himachal Pradesh, as the body of a newborn baby boy was found floating in a pond near a cremation ground in Upper Dhundla village, under Bangana subdivision of Una district. The infant’s neck was tied to a stone, suggesting a deliberate and disturbing attempt to drown the child.

The gruesome discovery was made by villagers early Tuesday morning, who immediately alerted local panchayat authorities and the Bangana police. A police team, led by Station In-Charge Rohit Kumar, reached the scene and took custody of the body.

Preliminary Investigation Points to Recent Birth

Initial observations suggest the child was likely born recently and was disposed of shortly after birth. Speaking to media, Panchayat Deputy Pradhan Raman Kumar confirmed that he was informed by villagers and wasted no time in contacting the police.
