Shimla, April 8:
In a significant move to improve connectivity in the tribal district of Kinnaur, Revenue, Horticulture, Tribal Development, and Public Grievance Redressal Minister Jagat Singh Negi flagged off the new Chaura-Rupi bus service, which will now link the remote village of Rupi to the main district entrance at Chaura. The service was inaugurated today, marking a key milestone in the state’s efforts to improve transportation infrastructure in the region.

Addressing the gathering, Jagat Singh Negi highlighted the importance of this initiative, noting that Rupi village, located 15 kilometers from Chaura, had previously faced challenges due to limited access to transport. He emphasized that the current state government is committed to the welfare of rural communities and is working to provide transport facilities that will ease the daily lives of the villagers, save time, and facilitate economic progress in the area.

“The state government is prioritizing development in inaccessible and remote areas,” said Negi. “Through these efforts, we aim for equal development in Kinnaur, without any political bias, ensuring that every section of the district benefits.”

The minister also shared that significant progress has been made in connecting link roads to the main roads in the district, with ongoing work to further enhance infrastructure. These improvements will provide more accessible routes for the people of Kinnaur, contributing to the overall development of the region.

Among those present at the flag-off ceremony were Sub Divisional Magistrate Nichar Narayan Singh Chauhan, Deputy Superintendent of Police Bhavnagar Raj Kumar, Executive Engineer of Public Works Department Anand Sharma, Block Development Officer Kalpa Pyare Lal Negi, and several local political leaders and community officials.
