Shimla, April 3: The District-level Himachal Day celebrations will be held at the iconic Chaugan ground in Nahan on April 15, 2025, as announced by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sirmaur, Sumit Khimta. The grand event will feature a vibrant array of cultural performances and a captivating march-past, marking the occasion with a display of the region’s rich heritage and patriotism.

Chairing a meeting to review the preparations, DC Khimta confirmed that the chief guest would hoist the national flag and offer a wreath at the Shaheed Smarak in Nahan city to honor the sacrifices of the region’s martyrs. Following this, a floral tribute will be paid at the statue of Himachal Pradesh’s founder, Dr. Yashwant Parmar, to commemorate his contributions to the state’s formation.

The celebrations will also include a parade, where the chief guest will inspect the contingents and salute the march-past, adding to the grandeur of the event. Khimta stated that apart from police and home guard contingents, students from local schools, colleges, and NCC units would take part in the march-past, making it a true reflection of community spirit and the state’s rich educational culture.

In addition to the parade, the event will feature a series of colorful cultural programs presented by students from various educational institutions, showcasing Himachal’s diverse traditions, music, and dance.

Khimta emphasized the importance of collaboration among all departments to ensure the smooth and successful organization of the Himachal Day celebrations. “Each department must carry out their responsibilities with utmost dedication to make the event memorable for the people of Sirmaur and Himachal Pradesh,” he said.

The meeting was attended by Additional Magistrate L.R. Verma, Additional Superintendent of Police Yogesh Rolta, Assistant Commissioner Vivek Sharma, and other officials, who are all working closely to ensure the event’s success.

The celebrations will provide an opportunity for the people of Sirmaur and the wider region to come together in honoring their heritage and celebrating the achievements of Himachal Pradesh.
