Shimla, March 28: In a remarkable display of empathy and social responsibility, the Jai Maa Durga Taxi Union has come forward to support the blind union of Himachal Pradesh, which has been protesting outside the state secretariat to demand their rights. While the protest escalated into a clash with the police, leaving one person seriously injured, the taxi union’s act of kindness on Friday provided much-needed relief to the protesting blind union members.

The blind union has been staging a dharna, demanding better rights and facilities for the visually impaired community. Despite the tense situation following the clash, the protestors remained steadfast in their pursuit of justice. It was during this time that the Jai Maa Durga Taxi Union, under the leadership of Union President Naresh Verma, Vice President Surendra, and Director Jogendra Thakur, took the initiative to ensure that the protestors were not left without basic necessities.

Humanity in Action

Understanding the struggles of the blind union, the taxi union decided to help in the most practical way possible—by arranging food and water for the protestors. Their act of kindness was not limited to just offering a meal, but extended to ensuring the comfort and safety of the protestors throughout the day and night. On Friday evening, the taxi union arranged for dinner for the protestors who had been sitting without food for an extended period, showing genuine concern for their well-being.

The support didn’t stop there. The taxi union also made sure that women protestors were given special care and attention. Four vehicles were arranged to transport the women safely to the Old Bus Stand during the night, ensuring they were able to return home without any hassle. On Friday morning, the taxi union continued their support by providing breakfast and tea to the protestors, ensuring they were able to start the day with the energy they needed to continue their peaceful demonstration.

A Symbol of Cooperation and Unity

Naresh Verma, Director of the Simran Welfare Foundation and President of the Jai Maa Durga Society, spoke about the union’s motivation to help the blind union. He emphasized, “At a time when the blind union is striving to make their voices heard by the government, it is our duty to assist them in every possible way. This is not merely organizational cooperation, but a symbol of humanity and a spirit of unity.”

Verma further added that their effort was an example of how different groups can come together to support each other. “When one union understands the pain and plight of another, it sets a new precedent for cooperation and social responsibility,” he remarked.

A New Example of Unity in Society

The actions of the Jai Maa Durga Taxi Union have set a powerful example of solidarity in society. In times of unrest and difficulty, the willingness to extend a helping hand to those in need not only provides immediate relief but also helps in fostering a sense of unity and cooperation among different communities and organizations.

The taxi union’s gesture stands as a reminder of the collective responsibility society shares to look after one another, especially in times of adversity. As the blind union continues its fight for justice, the support they have received from the Jai Maa Durga Taxi Union will undoubtedly add to the momentum of their cause, showing that when solidarity is extended between different groups, positive change becomes more achievable.

This act of humanity and cooperation not only helped ease the discomfort of the protestors but also reinforced the message that kindness, empathy, and unity have the power to transform society for the better.
