Himachal High Court Transfers 19 Judicial Officers for Improved Administrative Functioning

Shimla, March 22: In a significant administrative move aimed at enhancing the smooth functioning of the judicial system, the Himachal Pradesh High Court has transferred and appointed 19 officers of the State Judicial Service. The transfers, which have been implemented with immediate effect, are part of the ongoing efforts to ensure efficient management of judicial work across the state.

According to a notification issued late Friday evening by the Registrar General of the High Court, these transfers come as part of routine administrative changes to maintain the effectiveness of the judiciary. The latest reshuffling includes several key appointments across various judicial positions, including District and Sessions Judges, Senior Civil Judges, and Chief Judicial Magistrates (CJM).

Key Appointments and Transfers

As per the notification, Yogesh Jaswal, the Director of the Himachal Pradesh Judicial Academy, has been appointed as the District and Sessions Judge for Nahan, Sirmaur. Meanwhile, Rajesh Tomar, the District and Sessions Judge in Mandi, has been transferred and appointed as the Chairman-cum-Member of the Transport Appellate Tribunal in Hamirpur.

Paras Dogar, who previously served as the Registrar (Judicial) of the High Court, will now take over as the District and Sessions Judge in Mandi. On the other hand, Hansraj, who was serving as District and Sessions Judge in Nahan, Sirmaur, has been appointed as the new Director of the Himachal Pradesh Judicial Academy in Ghandal, Shimla.

The High Court also made adjustments to several other key positions. Nitin Kumar, previously posted as the Director of the Himachal Pradesh Judicial Academy in Shimla, has now been directed to continue his duties as the Principal Justice of the Family Court in Mandi.

Changes at the Senior Civil Judge Level

In addition to the significant transfers at the District and Sessions Judge level, several changes have been made in the positions of Senior Civil Judge-cum-ACJM. Niranjan Singh, currently serving in Amb, has been transferred to Shimla. Meanwhile, Ashok Kumar, who was working in Shimla, has been transferred to Kasauli as the Senior Civil Judge-cum-ACJM.

Other notable transfers in this category include Gaurav Kumar, who was working in Rampur Bushahr and has now been appointed to Palampur, and Prashant Singh Negi, who has been transferred from Kasauli to Amb.

Baljeet, the Senior Civil Judge in Nurpur, has been transferred to Rampur Bushahr, while Deepali Gambhir, also working in Nurpur, will remain at her post as Senior Civil Judge-cum-ACJM-I in Nurpur.

Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Transfers

Changes have also been made at the level of Chief Judicial Magistrates. Vishal Tiwari, who was posted in Anni, has now been transferred to Paonta Sahib. Shavik Ghai, posted in Hamirpur, will take over as CJM in Una, while Priyanka Devi from Paonta Sahib will now take charge in Anni. Geetika Yadav, previously in Una, will now be posted to Mandi, and Tina Malhotra, who was in Mandi, will now assume the role of CJM in Hamirpur.

Deadline for Officers to Join New Posts

The High Court has instructed all transferred judicial officers to assume their new positions by April 4, 2025. The reshuffling aims to enhance the functioning of the judiciary by bringing fresh perspectives to various districts and ensuring the continued effectiveness of the judicial process in Himachal Pradesh.

These transfers are expected to streamline the state’s judicial operations and contribute to the ongoing modernization of the Himachal Pradesh judicial system.
