Shimla, March 04: Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu presided over an important meeting of the Himachal Pradesh Rajya Chayan Aayog (HPRCA) at Hamirpur today, wherein significant announcements regarding upcoming recruitment in the state were made. CM Sukhu said that all process for filling up posts would be initiated in various Departments, Boards and Corporations where there were about 2,000 posts lying vacant. The posts comprise both newly declared posts along with notified positions of former Himachal Pradesh Staff Selection Commission.

CM Sukhu also reiterated the state’s resolve to provide employment to the youth of Himachal Pradesh in a fair and transparent manner. He asked the HPRCA to start the recruitment process for the 2,000 vacancies at the earliest. He further ordered the commission to give priority to the declaration of the results of the 660 positions across the six post codes which were approved in a previous Cabinet’ meeting.

Age Relaxation for Candidates

Among the key decisions‚ a two-year age relaxation has been granted for those who earlier could not apply against these government jobs due to different reasons. CM Sukhu noted that many qualified youth were denied the chance to apply for posts/trainings due to age limitation in previous advertisements and promised that the state government would provide this relaxation to facilitate a greater number of the youth to avail government services.

It is also viewed as movement towards resolving the issues faced by candidates who were previously unable to land employment because of the rigid age requirements and would give them a fighting chance to pursue the next round of government jobs.

Emphasis on Transparency and Merit

The Chief Minister also used the occasion to attack the previous BJP-led government over unemployment. CM Sukhu cited failures of the previous government to provide adequate employment to the youth, also highlighting issues of corruption and mismanagement including a series of leaked question papers during the BJP regime.

While addressing the public, CM Sukhu assured that the recruitment process would be fully transparent under his government and would be subject to computer tests for a fair recruitment process. He also emphasized that HPRCA would maintain merit as the sole measure for hiring, ensuring that all appointments are made on the basis of merit.

One-Time Registration Module

To facilitate the application process and increase ease for applicants, CM Sukhu directed the HPRCA to introduce one-time Registration Module by March 20, 2025. With this module candidates will have to register only once and for all future recruitments, they will not have to register for each recruitment notification. The transition is designed to streamline the process for job seekers and ease transmission buildup.

Future Steps

Making the meeting end on a positive note, CM Sukhu assured that the state government will leave no stone unturned in providing job opportunities to the youth in a timely, systematic and efficient manner. He also called on the HPRCA and other relevant entities responsible for the recruitment process to expedite the recruitment process and undertake the screening of candidates in the most transparent manner.

Attending the meeting were the Principal Advisor Information Technology and Innovation Gokul Butail, Chief Secretary Prabodh Saxena, Principal Secretary Devesh Kumar, Secretaries M Sudha Devi and Rakesh Kanwar, Digital Technologies and Governance expert Dr. Nipun Jindal and others who helped create a roadmap for the recruitment process.

We hope these large scale recruitment drives and age relaxation will do wonders to provide most opportunists to the job seekers in the state and new employment for the youth there.
