Electricity Board decided to fight a decisive battle against Sukhu government, warned of a big movement
Hiralal Verma, Co-Convener, Joint Front
Shimla, 5 February: The Joint Front of Himachal Pradesh Electricity Board employees, engineers and pensioners has decided to fight a decisive battle against the Sukhu government.
In the meeting of the Joint Front held in Shimla, a warning of a big movement against the Sukhu government has been given for the main 6 demands OPS, layoffs, recruitment on outsource, termination of services of 75 drivers, not paying the financial liabilities of pensioners, which will start with Maha Panchayat in Hamirpur district on 11th February and later the movement will be intensified in all the districts.
Joint Front Co-Convener Hira Lal Verma said in Shimla that the state government has turned the electricity board into a laboratory. Sometimes the sub-committee experiments on the electricity board, and sometimes the state government makes policies for the electricity board by sitting in a room. Now the work of ending the electricity board in the name of rationalization is being done. Employees are not against rationalization, rather they want that a decision be taken by sitting with everyone. Such decisions cannot be taken by sitting in a room. 700 posts of the electricity board have been abolished.
Permission has also been given by the Chief Minister. The electricity board has been put in back gear. New recruitment is not being done in the electricity board. The state government is trying to recruit in the electricity board on the basis of outsourcing. Hiralal Verma said that efforts are being made to show the electricity board in loss, whereas the electricity board is not in loss. Rs 178 crore is to be paid to the electricity board by various government departments. In the coming times, the Joint Front will not back down from a big movement.
