Shimla, January 02: In a statement issued from Shimla, Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur said that Bharatiya Janata Party will boycott the MLA priority meeting to be held on February 3 and 4. In the last two years, no work mentioned by the BJP MLAs has been given priority by the Sukhu government, on the contrary, our MLAs are being harassed in various ways by the government.

In the priority meeting, BJP MLAs tell about their works, but the government does not give them any priority at all. Instead of elected MLAs, Congress leaders rejected by the public and defeated are being given priority. When the priorities told by the BJP MLAs in the MLA priority meeting are not being heard by the Sukhu government, then what is the justification of the MLA priority meeting. That is why the BJP Legislature Party is boycotting the upcoming MLA priority meeting.

Jairam Thakur said that the elected representatives of the BJP are being ignored even in the inauguration programs of the works started by the previous government which are currently being completed. They are not even being invited to the inauguration programs, their names are not even being written on the inauguration plaque. Instead of the elected public representatives, the Congress leaders rejected by the public and defeated are being given importance. The present government is insulting the elected BJP MLAs at every level.

Jairam Thakur said that since the Congress lost the Rajya Sabha elections, the government is misusing the police. BJP MLAs and leaders are being harassed by misusing power. This government is targeting not only the MLA but also his family, relatives and their business. The Sukhu government has crossed all limits of misuse of power.

BJP MLAs and leaders are being harassed by implicating them in fake cases. Our MLAs are being harassed by the police by making them sit in the police station for 8 hours in the name of investigation. This incident is being repeated with our leaders not once but many times. The government does not have any facts against our MLAs and leaders. Therefore, at the behest of the government, the police is harassing them by making them sit in the police station for hours every day in the name of investigation.

The Leader of Opposition said that the way the Sukh government, which wants to change the system, is harassing the leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party by misusing the police. Such malicious politics has never happened in the history of Himachal. The officers who misuse the law by disregarding the rules at the behest of the government should keep in mind that power and strength are not permanent. Therefore, they should refrain from misusing the law, respect the law and work according to the rules.
