Shimla, January 27: A painful accident occurred on Monday in Shamot village of Jubbal tehsil. Hundreds of apple and pear plants were burnt to ashes in the accident. At the same time, a cow died a painful death. This incident happened in the garden of Surendra Kumar son of late Padam Singh at around 10 am. Due to the fire, about 200 of his apple and pear plants were burnt to ashes.

Surendra Kumar’s cowshed also came under the grip of this fire, in which a cow died. Apart from this, gardens of other people also came under the grip of fire. Due to which many apple plants were burnt.

As soon as the information about the incident was received, fire brigade vehicles and police team immediately reached the spot. The fire was controlled with the help of local people, but by then the fire had caused a lot of damage. The local administration inspected the spot and took stock of the situation and started investigation.

Jubbal SHO Chetan Chauhan said that about 500 apple plants of many gardeners have been burnt in the fire. A cow has also died. The cause of the fire is being investigated. Surendra Kumar and other gardeners have suffered huge financial losses due to this incident. The flames were so intense that the fire fighters and local people had to work hard to control the fire.
