Nahan, January 20: A young woman working as a student counsellor internship has accused the director of a renowned educational institution located in Nahan, the district headquarters of Sirmaur in Himachal Pradesh, of molestation and kidnapping.

According to the information received, this case was registered on January 15, in which sections of molestation and kidnapping have been imposed against the director of a renowned educational institution.

However, due to bailable sections, the accused has not been arrested yet.

The case has been registered under sections 74, 75 and 137 (2) of the Indian Penal Code (BNS). The incident is of January 14.

According to the victim, on January 14 at 10:50 am, when she was working in the Nahan branch of the academy, the owner of the institute called her and asked her to come down to the road and said that he had to go out for some urgent office work.

According to the female employee, when she sat in his car, the owner instead of taking her to his office from the turquoise factory, took her to some deserted place via Shivalik Road, where he did obscene acts with the woman and forced her to drink alcohol.

According to the police, the victim showed prudence and sent her live location and messages to her friends and was successful in getting out of there by making an excuse of her mother’s call.

The woman reached home and told the entire incident to her family and along with them reached the women’s police station and lodged a complaint.

The police has started the investigation on priority basis, in which CCTV footage, location and other allegations are being verified.

A notice has been issued to the owner to join the investigation. At present, the police has intensified the investigation considering the seriousness of the case. Further action will be taken only after investigation and verification of all the facts.

On the other hand, in a press release issued by the police, Additional Superintendent of Police of (Sirmaur) Yogesh Rolta confirmed the case and said that a notice has been issued to the accused Manoj Rathi to join the investigation.

The police is thoroughly investigating the CCTV footage, live location and evidence in this case.

He said that if the accused does not join the investigation, then arrest action will be taken against the accused Manoj Rathi.
