Hamirpur, Sourabh Jaiswal: Jal Shakti Department Hamirpur has prepared a new plan to overcome the shortage of water in the areas under Nagar Nigam Hamirpur. Water will now be supplied from Sutlej river in the areas under the corporation. The department has started preparing DPR to implement this scheme, which will be sent for government approval.

The superintending engineer of the department, Engineer Neeraj Bhogal, said that work is going on to lift water from the Gobind Sagar lake of Bhakra dam built on the river Satluj for the Barsar assembly constituency at a cost of Rs. 132 crore. After this trial, the government has started the process of making a drinking water lifting scheme on the river Satluj for adequate supply of water in the Municipal Corporation Hamirpur.
