Shimla, 07 January: A case of social media objectionable posts against the Congress party including ministers and Chief Minister of the state has come to light. In this matter, the police acted promptly by registering an FIR in two police stations in Shimla city.

The case has been registered on a complaint filed by a Congress leader

On the complaint of Congress leader Suresh Kumar, a case was registered in Sadar Police Station. He had said that a user Dinesh used social media to make objectionable comments against the Congress party. Dinesh called the Congress “not a political party but a hidden terrorist Muslim organization”, the complaint stated.

Such remarks were aimed at defaming the Congress party, Suresh Kumar said. Dinesh has intentionally repeated similar comments in other posts and this is not only tarnishing the image of the party but also inciting enmity and hatred in the society, he added.

In this case, Sadar Police Station has registered the case under Sections 336(4), 353(2), 356(4) and 196(1) of the IPC.

The police have launched an inquiry and are examining any possible digital trail of the comments that spread across social media.
