Massive Fire in Tandi Village of Kullu: 20 Houses Burnt, 30 Families Left Homeless
Kullu, January 1: A devastating fire broke out in Tandi village, located in the Banjar valley of Kullu district, causing significant destruction. Around 20 wooden houses were reduced to ashes, including the deity’s storehouse. Approximately 100 people from 30 families were affected, with the estimated loss amounting to around five crore rupees.
The fire occurred during the day, which fortunately resulted in no fatalities. However, the wooden structures of the village caught fire rapidly, spreading panic among residents. Despite their best efforts to extinguish the flames, the houses were consumed by fire within moments. The cold wave exacerbated the situation, allowing the fire to spread even faster.

Since all the houses in Tandi village were made of wood, the fire spread uncontrollably. Many residents were unable to save their belongings, managing only to secure their livestock. The sight of their burning homes left everyone, from children to the elderly, in tears.
The fire brigade team from Banjar arrived at 3:01 pm, but due to a lack of water, controlling the fire became challenging. Additional fire brigade vehicles were sent from Kullu and Larji, but by then, many homes had already been completely destroyed.
