Shimla, December 14: The political atmosphere in Himachal has heated up once again and this time the reason is “wild chicken”. The opposition is targeting the government and making it an issue. A video of this is also going viral on social media.

In fact, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu spent the night with the villagers under the “Sarkar Gaon Ke Dwar” program in Tikkar village of Kupvi, a remote area of Shimla. During this, wild chicken was served in the village. However, the Chief Minister did not eat the chicken and scolded the villagers for hunting it.

At the same time, Leader of Opposition and former Chief Minister Jairam Thakur raised questions on the matter and said that the Chief Minister first included the wild chicken in the menu and then fed it to his ministers. In Himachal, wild chicken species are protected under the Wildlife Protection Act-1972. Hunting them is a crime and there is a provision of punishment of 3 to 7 years for this.
