Shimla, 04 December: These days the weather in Himachal Pradesh remains dry. Now experts related to environmental protection have started expressing concern about this changing weather in the state. In the month of October-November, the period of snowfall used to start in various areas of Kullu-Manali and Lahaul-Spiti, but this year drought is visible on the high peaks even in the month of December

The problem of melting of glaciers is increasing due to lack of snowfall

Former Forest Officer B.S. Rana, who belongs to Lahaul-Spiti district, said that not only Himachal but the whole world is facing the problem of global warming

He said that polar drift is considered to be a major reason for this, due to which there is no snowfall in the month of October-November. The cold has now moved ahead.

B.S. Rana said that due to the change in the time of snowfall, the problem of melting of glaciers has also started to occur year after year, due to which the problem of water has also started to arise in various areas.

There was no snowfall in the month of December this year even on the high peaks

Rana said that earlier every year the monsoon used to start after 10-15 June and the monsoon season used to end by the end of July 15-20 August, which now the monsoon season is ending in October.

He said that the same situation of snowfall is there now, as we used to have a typical season in Lahaul, which we have been seeing since childhood that the snowfall used to happen after 10-15 November, we all knew that the entire Rohtang Pass would be closed and after that snowfall would start and the whole area would be closed, earlier the snowfall which was recorded in meters, was recorded in freeze, now it is being recorded in inches and centimeters because Now even if total snowfall of 2-4 inches is recorded, it gets cleared the next day, so what will happen if there is late snowfall, there will be more landslides, more damage, so this time is not enough for that change to come.

Let us tell you that a society named Save Lahaul Spiti has been formed by the people of Lahaul Valley, in which B.S. Rana is working as the president.

The aim of the society is to save the area from these changes coming in the environment.

The society is also planting trees in the barren forests in the valley and the local people said that work should be done to save the forests in the valley, otherwise they will soon have to face the problem of drinking water.
