Mandi, 04 December: IIT Mandi Assistant Professor Dr. Gajendra Singh has created a portable neonatal incubator, with the help of which cheap and portable NICU will now be available to newborn children.
Dr. Gajendra Singh said that it also includes digital health feature, with the help of which doctors can now monitor the child even from a distance and give him online treatment.
Dr. Gajendra Singh said that now there will be no need for an ambulance for the neonatal incubator and it can be taken from one area to another with the help of a drone or through a car. It will have full facilities of oxygen cylinder, two hours battery backup, phototherapy for prevention of jaundice and warmer.
He told that its model was made one and a half years ago which has now reached the startup stage and soon a private company is going to start its manufacturing work.
Telling about the price of this incubator, he said that in the market this minimum incubator is Rs 35 lakh but the incubator he has made will be available for three to eight lakh rupees.
