BSNL India has commissioned its first 4G site using VSAT satellite technology at a remote village ‘Rarik’ in Lahaul & Spiti district

Kumud Sharma, Diary Times:Â Under the Digital India Fund, BSNL India has commissioned its first 4G site using VSAT satellite technology at a remote village ‘Rarik’ in Lahaul & Spiti district, Himachal Pradesh.
Even in harsh conditions like -6 degree temperature, remote villages like Rarik are now getting connected with digital connectivity.
Union Minister for Communications and Development of North Eastern Region, Govt. of India, Jyotiraditya M Scindia Said, “BSNL is paving the way for empowerment and progress by becoming our true partner everywhere!”
Honourable Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh Shri Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu informed on Sunday that high-speed 4G broadband service facility has now been started in ‘Rarik’, a remote village in the Lahaul Spiti district of the state.
The CM said that the credit for achieving this feat goes to BSNL, with the start of 4G broadband service facility, people of remote areas facing cold throughout the year have started getting high speed internet.
CM Sukhu said that the temperature of most of the villages in Lahaul Spiti district remains in minus throughout the year due to heavy snowfall, due to which high speed 4G broadband service facility was not able to reach these areas earlier.
The CM said that the high-speed 4G broadband service facility installed in Rarik village is being streamlined with satellite communication system (VST) technology.
The CM said that the present state government has made a significant contribution in setting up broadband in Rarik village, the most important behind this is the process of land transfer for setting up towers under the Himachal Pradesh 4G Saturation Project and for this the state government has issued 100 percent no objection certificate and Himachal Pradesh has become the first state in the country to do so.
The CM said that all the necessary approvals were completed and submitted by the state government departments in time, due to which the launch of high-speed 4G broadband service facility has been possible in all the remote villages of Himachal Pradesh today.
Giving important information, the CM said that the state government has approved 366 forest sites as well as 46 government sites, which provides permission to install towers at 658 places.

The CM said that 4G high-speed broadband service facility is to be started at a total of 658 places in the state, out of which this facility has been started at 294 places, while the work of installing 37 towers is going on in full swing.
The CM said that the present state government is connecting the people living in tribal and remote areas with 4G high-speed broadband service facility to improve their lives. The CM said that strong steps are being taken continuously for the people living in tribal and remote areas, as a result of which the Himachal Pradesh government took a big decision and celebrated the first Himachal Pradesh Day in Kaza of Spiti Valley in the year 2023.
