Manali: On the completion of two years of the Congress government, the State Vice President of the Bharatiya Janata Party and former minister Govind Singh Thakur has strongly attacked it and called it the most unsuccessful tenure in the history of Himachal Pradesh. He said that the Sukhu government is organizing a function in Bilaspur on the completion of its two years, but this function seems to be completely opposite to the real situation of the state. While on one hand the Congress government is trying to portray itself as dedicated to development and the welfare of the people, on the other hand the people of the state are still unhappy due to their problems and the failures of the government.
Govind Singh Thakur said that the results of the election promises and guarantees made by the Congress to the people of the state are in front of everyone. During the elections, the Congress had claimed to take the development of the state to new heights after coming to power, but in two years there has only been an increase in debt and violation of the rights of the people.
Former minister and BJP state vice-president Govind Singh Thakur said that to grab power, Congress had promised to give 300 units of free electricity to the people of the state, unfortunately this government stopped the 125 units of free electricity being given by the previous government. At the same time, the villagers have also been put under financial pressure due to the arrival of water bills.
Former minister Govind Singh Thakur said that the Sukhu government’s guarantee of giving Rs 1500 every month to women remained confined to papers. The women of the state, who had great expectations from this promise, are feeling cheated today. The promise of five lakh jobs proved to be just a slogan. Not only has this government failed to provide employment, but the youth of the state have been made unemployed by removing regular employees. The Congress government has put the state in financial crisis by taking a loan of more than 20000 crores in two years.
At present, the total debt of Himachal Pradesh has reached 95000 crores. No new scheme was started, rather the schemes of the BJP government were also stopped. Former minister Govind Singh Thakur said that the Sukhu government of Congress has failed to achieve any significant achievement in its two-year tenure except benefiting its friends and burdening the state with debt.
