Sirmaur News: Dr. Y.S. Parmar Vidyarthi Rin Yojna Offers Rs. 20 Lakh Loan at 1% Interest for Students from Poor Families

Nahan, November 18: Under the Dr. Y.S. Parmar Vidyarthi Rin Yojna of the Himachal Pradesh Government, a loan of Rs 20 lakh is being made available at 1% interest to the students of poor families in Sirmaur district for pursuing higher education.

Giving this information, Deputy Commissioner Sirmaur Sumit Khimta said that the benefits of this scheme will be given to new students as well as students pursuing education from recognized institutions. Under this scheme, financial assistance will be provided for pursuing PhD from various diploma and degree courses including engineering, medical, management, paramedical, pharmacy, nursing, law, industrial training institutes, polytechnic institutes and recognized universities.

He informed that the benefit of this scheme will be available only to Himachali bonafide students for which the student must have secured at least 60 percent marks in the previous class and the student’s admission should be based on merit. The Deputy Commissioner informed that the annual income of the student’s family should not exceed Rs 4 lakh for which the income certificate will have to be obtained from the concerned Tehsildar or the Executive Magistrate of the subdivision.

The Deputy Commissioner stressed the importance of Dr. Y.S. Parmar Vidyarthi Rin Yojna and directed all the concerned departments to take immediate action for its successful implementation.
