Mandi News: Youth from Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba District Arrested with 4.7 kg of Hashish in Kullu Depot Bus
Sundernagar, November 18: The team of Police Station BSL Colony Sundernagar of Mandi District has got a big success. Police recovered 4.702 kg of hashish from a Himachal Path Parivahan Nigam bus during a blockade near Hamsafar Chowk on the Manali-Chandigarh National Highway on Sunday morning. In this case, 34-year-old Chaman Lal son Hansraj, a resident of Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir, has been arrested. The price of the recovered hashish in the international market is being estimated to be around 10 to 15 lakh rupees.
The team of Police Station BSL Colony was doing a blockade near Hamsafar Chowk of Nagar Parishad Sundernagar. During this, a bus of Kullu depot (HP-66A-4184) was stopped for investigation, which was going from Kullu to Chandigarh. During the search of the bus, 4.702 kg of charas was recovered from the possession of a youth. Police investigation revealed that the accused had boarded the bus from Aut of Mandi district. The charas recovered on the spot was sealed and seized as per rules and the accused was arrested.
DSP Sundernagar Bharat Bhushan confirmed the case and said that an FIR has been registered against the accused under section 20 of the NDPS Act. The accused will be produced in court soon. Also, investigation of other persons involved in the case is going on.
On the other hand, in another case, an accused living in Ladbhadol under Joginder Nagar police station has been arrested with 3.55 grams of heroin (chitta). In this case too, the police has registered an FIR against the accused under the NDPS Act. Sakshi Verma said that police will also take action against other people involved in the case.
