Office facilities of former Chief Parliamentary Secretaries in the Secretariat withdrawn, staff removed
After the Himachal Pradesh High Court declared the appointment of six former Chief Parliamentary Secretaries unconstitutional and decided to remove them and withdraw all the facilities being provided to them, the state government has recalled the officers of the Secretariat Services posted in the offices of the former CPS. Along with this, all the staff serving in their offices have also been removed from there.
Shimla, November 13: After the Himachal Pradesh High Court declared the appointment of six former Chief Parliamentary Secretaries unconstitutional and decided to remove them and withdraw all the facilities being provided to them, the state government has recalled the officers of the Secretariat Services posted in the offices of the former CPS. Along with this, all the staff serving in their offices have also been removed from there.
In an order issued by Chief Secretary Prabodh Saxena, three officers of the Secretariat Services have been immediately recalled from the CPS offices. This includes Special Private Secretary Satinder Kumar, Senior Private Secretary Tehmeena Begum and Bhuri Singh Rana. These officers have been asked to join the Personnel Department with immediate effect.

In another order, the Personnel Department has also recalled 14 employees serving in the CPS offices.
After the decision of the High Court, the Chief Secretary has issued another office order stating that all the allotments of offices issued till date in favour of former Chief Parliamentary Secretaries and their staff have been cancelled with immediate effect.
Let us tell you that the six Chief Parliamentary Secretaries whose appointment has been declared unconstitutional by the High Court include MLA Sanjay Awasthy from Arki assembly constituency, Sunder Singh from Kullu, Ram Kumar from Doon, Mohan Lal Brakta from Rohru, Ashish Butail from Palampur and Kishori Lal from Baijnath. The Sukhu government had posted them as Chief Parliamentary Secretariat in January 2023.
