Illegal weapons recovered in Kangra, accused arrested with two pistols
The accused have been identified as Sunshat Kumar, resident of Chadi, Tehsil Shahpur, District Kangra, and Ajaydeep Singh, resident of District Gurdaspur, Punjab. Both have been arrested and detailed interrogation is being carried out to ascertain their exact whereabouts.
Dharamshala, October 28: Kangra Police has arrested two persons in a major action against illegal arms smuggling. Based on the secret information received, the police came to know that two persons are coming from Delhi to Kangra with a large quantity of illegal weapons. Taking immediate action on this information, a team was formed under the leadership of Sub Divisional Police Officer Kangra Ankit Sharma. The team set up a blockade near Purana Kangra.
During the blockade, the police conducted a thorough check of all the vehicles coming and going towards Kangra throughout the night. After this, the passengers alighting from Volvo buses coming from Delhi at Kangra Bus Stand were questioned. During this, two persons who were carrying backpacks were found unable to give satisfactory answers. Due to which the police suspected them.

When they were checked on the basis of suspicion, two pistols (including empty magazines) were recovered from them. Following this, a case was registered against both the persons at Police Station Kangra under Sections 25 and 27 of the Arms Act-1959.
