The country’s largest ropeway project to be built in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh is going to start from March 2025. The New Development Bank (NDB) has approved the advance tender for this project. This ropeway will be about 14 km long, consisting of 13 stations and 660 trolleys. After the completion of this project, Shimla’s traffic problem will get a big relief and tourism will also get new dimensions.

Shimla, October 24: The country’s largest ropeway project to be built in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh is going to start from March 2025. The New Development Bank (NDB) has approved the advance tender for this project. This ropeway will be about 14 km long, consisting of 13 stations and 660 trolleys. After the completion of this project, Shimla’s traffic problem will get a big relief and tourism will also get new dimensions.

Deputy CM Mukesh Agnihotri said that the government’s focus is on the construction of projects, while the opposition is in a race to take credit for it. He also said that the previous BJP government did not contribute anything to this project. During a press conference held in Shimla, he told that even the DPR (Detail Project Report) of the ropeway was not made during the tenure of the previous government. After the Congress government came to power, it hired consultants from abroad and prepared the DPR, which cost Rs 12.5 crore.

Mukesh Agnihotri said that this ropeway will prove to be a lifesaver for Shimla and people will get relief from traffic jams.

He also said that the future of Himachal Pradesh is in ropeways and the central government is also helping in this project. This project will be completed in two phases and the first phase will be completed during the tenure of this government.

The Deputy CM said that the government will install world standard ropeways so that there is no compromise with safety. Work is also going on at a fast pace on the ropeway projects of Bijli Mahadev and Baglamukhi. The Baglamukhi ropeway is almost ready and its trial is also going on.

Also responded to the allegations of the opposition on railway projects

Responding to the opposition’s allegations of not giving a share in the railway projects in Himachal Pradesh, the Deputy CM said that the present government is working with the Center on Bhanupalli-Bilaspur-Beri rail line and Chandigarh-Baddi rail line. Out of the 63.1 km length of Bhanupalli-Bilaspur-Beri rail line, 49.2 km is in Himachal, in which the previous government has contributed Rs 511 crore and the present government has contributed Rs 336 crore. He said that partnership will be done with the Center in railway projects so that everyone gets its benefit.

Mukesh Agnihotri accused the opposition of misleading the people and said that his government is dedicated to the development of Himachal and will not try to mislead the public with false promises.
