Form of the Mother
The form of Maa Brahmacharini is considered to be the unmarried form of Maa Parvati. Maa has a rosary of chanting in her right hand and a kamandal in her left hand. Maa Brahmacharini is a symbol of purity, peace, penance and pure conduct. Maa Brahmacharini wears white clothes.

Maa Brahmacharini was born as the daughter of Parvataraja Himalaya. On the advice of Devarshi Narad, she did rigorous penance for a thousand years to get Lord Shiva as her husband. She lived on the ground and endured the hardships of rain and sun under the open sky. Due to this penance, she was known as Tapashcharini. Due to the difficult penance of several thousand years, the body of the goddess became very weak, seeing her condition, her mother Maina became very sad. This penance caused uproar in all the three worlds. Then Brahma Ji blessed her through Akashvani that till date, goddess, no one has done such a tough penance as you have done. Soon your wish will be fulfilled. Lord Shiva will definitely accept you as her husband. After this, according to Brahma’s writings, she got married to Mahadev Shiva and came to be known as Mata Brahmacharini.
How to worship the Maa
Maa Brahmacharini should be worshipped in Brahma Muhurta, after taking bath etc. and wearing yellow clothes. Mother loves yellow color, so yellow flowers, clothes and fruits should be used in worship. One should worship the Kalash with the family and chant the mantras of the mother etc. Durga Saptashati should be recited. Offer sugar-made things in the worship of the mother. By worshipping the mother, there is happiness and peace in the house and there is no hindrance in any work.
