Mandi, September 12: A 6-room kutcha house collapsed and got destroyed in Dhalara village under Sandhole tehsil of Dharampur subdivision. According to the information received, this house belonged to Janaki Devi, wife of Chetram. At the time of the incident, Janaki Devi had gone for MNREGA labour and no one was present at home. If someone had been present at home, a major accident could have happened. Although the weather was clear and sunny on Wednesday, but a day before that on Tuesday, there was heavy rain in the area. It is also being told that the house was in a very dilapidated condition and water started dripping from its roofs. People present on the spot informed the local Panchayat, affected people and administration about the collapse of the house.
The Panchayat and administration team reached the spot and assessed the damage. It is being said that the damage is around five lakhs. SDM Dharampur Joginder Patial has confirmed the matter. He said that the affected family has been given immediate relief of 10 thousand and a case is being made for further relief. He has assured the affected family of every possible help from the administration.
