Shimla, September 1: Websites will be made for the three major temples of Shimla city, Jakhu, Sankatmochan and Taradevi. Through this, tourists and devotees will get online information about these temples. This decision was taken by Deputy Commissioner Shimla Anupam Kashyap while presiding over the meetings of the trust of Shri Tara Devi Mata Temple, Shri Sankat Mochan Temple and Shri Hanuman Ji Temple Jakhu on Saturday.

The Deputy Commissioner said that all the three temples do not have any website of their own. In such a situation, devotees are not able to get all the information about the temple on one platform. Many types of facilities like temple website, temple income expenditure, developmental work, history related, Bhandara booking, donation facility etc. will be available.

Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap said that temples are an integral part of our culture. The district administration is always trying to preserve and protect them. Every possible effort is being made to provide better and modern facilities to the devotees in the temples. The practice of distributing bhandara in taur pattal in all the three temples in the city is proving to be a great example in the interest of the environment. Women of self-help groups active in rural areas are getting employment at home by making taur pattal. At the same time, people are getting to eat bhandara on taur pattal full of medicinal properties.

The Deputy Commissioner said that inspection will be done in all the three temple premises of the city next week. During this, a strategy will be made for development work. The members of the trust will be specially present during this time. SDM Urban Bhanu Gupta, SDM Rural Kavita Thakur along with non-government members of all the three temple trusts were specially present in the meeting.

Now bhandara will be available on taur pattal in Jakhu
The Deputy Commissioner chaired the meeting of Shri Hanuman Temple Jakhu Trust. It has been decided in this meeting that the bhandara to be distributed in the temple will be distributed in taur pattal instead of steel plates. The district administration has already started this facility in Tara Devi Temple and Sankatmochan. In such a situation, now Jakhu temple is going to be the third temple that is starting an eco-friendly system. The responsibility of providing taur’s pattal in Jakhu temple has been given to the saksham self-help group. A total of 1 crore 99 lakh 47 thousand 571 rupees have been earned from January 1 to August 30, 2024. Whereas till now 79 lakh 66 thousand 423 rupees have been spent. There is 3 crore 55 lakh 53 thousand 75 rupees in the savings account of various banks of the temple.

Hoardings will be put up on the temple premises about decent clothes

It has been decided in the meeting of Jakhu Temple Trust that devotees should come for darshan only by wearing decent clothes inside the temple. Hoardings will be put up at various places in the temple premises regarding this. The members of the trust had put the above suggestion, to which everyone agreed.

District Magistrate will visit the temple premises next week

Due to the increasing number of devotees visiting Jakhu temple year after year and the expansion around the main temple for a long time, District Magistrate Anupam Kashyap will visit the temple next week. During this time, possibilities will be explored regarding the expansion of the temple. Apart from this, inspection will also be done regarding other development works in the temple premises. During the visit, temple trust members were present along with officials of the concerned departments.

It has been decided in the meeting of Jakhu Temple Trust that the jasmine oil and vermilion offered by the devotees will be returned to the devotees. Actually, till now the devotees offer oil and vermilion in the temple. In such a situation, the trust has decided that only a part of the oil and vermilion will be offered by the devotees and the rest will be returned to the concerned devotee. At the same time, a proposal will be sent to the government regarding filling the posts of temple priests. A total of Rs 1 crore 99 lakh 47 thousand 571 has been earned in the temple from January 1 to August 30, 2024. Whereas till now Rs 79 lakh 66 thousand 423 have been spent. There is Rs 3 crore 55 lakh 53 thousand 75 in the savings account of various banks of the temple.

Shri Sankat Mochan Temple Trust

Many decisions were taken in the meeting of Shri Sankat Mochan Temple Trust. The proposal for appointment of priest in the temple will be sent to the government. At the same time, police will be deployed in the temple premises so that devotees can get better facilities. A new shoe house will be built in the temple premises. Land will be selected for this soon. The matters related to repair work and other beautification in the temple will be decided during the visit of the District Magistrate to the temple premises next week. In this, a decision will be taken in the upcoming meeting by sharing with the Municipal Corporation regarding the income of the parking built on the temple premises. Any kind of repair and construction work in the temple premises will be done by a recognized institution.

Approval for development work in Taradevi temple

The meeting of Shri Tara Devi Temple Trust was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap. In this, repair work was approved to prevent water leakage in the main temple and leakage of water from the roof. For this, the work will be implemented with the help of experts.

Construction of toilets and bathrooms along with the wrestling arena of the temple, water storage tank with a capacity of 1 lakh liters, rain shelter and toilet construction work in the parking area were approved. At the same time, two new uniforms will be distributed to the temple employees. Approval was given to increase the number of workers for cleaning the temple premises and operating the toilets. A proposal will be sent to the state government to fill the vacant posts of priests in the temple.
