Accidented vehicle
Bharmour, August 28: There is news of a tragic road accident during Mani Mahesh Yatra in Himachal Pradesh, in which three devotees lost their lives. The accident took place on the Bharmour-Bharmani road, when a vehicle (HP 02 C 0345) full of devotees went out of control and fell into a ditch. 10 people in the vehicle have been injured in this accident.
It is being told that this accident happened around 8 am on Wednesday. Devotees from Pathankot, Punjab were going to the temple of Bharmani Mata after paying obeisance at the Chaurasi temple. The accident happened due to sinking of the culvert. There were 13 devotees in the Bolero camper.
According to eyewitnesses, the accident happened when the vehicle lost control at a sharp turn and fell straight into a deep ditch. As soon as the news of the accident was received, local people and administrative teams immediately reached the spot and started rescue work. The injured have been admitted to the Civil Hospital Bharmour.
After the incident, there was an atmosphere of chaos on the spot. The local administration and police intensified the relief and rescue work to control the situation. Local residents also played an important role in the rescue work. The condition of some of the injured is said to be critical, who have been referred to Tanda Medical College in Kangra after first aid.
The administration has started investigating the causes of the accident and meanwhile, pilgrims have been advised to take extra precautions during the Mani Mahesh Yatra. The accident has created an atmosphere of mourning and concern in the entire area and people are wishing for the speedy recovery of the injured.
On the other hand, while talking to Local News Network, Bharmour SDM KS Rana said that 4 seriously injured have been referred to Tanda while 6 are undergoing treatment in Bharmour. He told that these devotees were on the journey to Mani Mahesh.
