CM’s Principal Advisor Gokul Butail decided to give up salary and allowances amid financial crisis

Amid the deteriorating financial condition of Himachal Pradesh, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu’s Principal Advisor (IT) Gokul Butail has set a great example. He has announced to give up salary and allowances amid the economic crisis in the state.

Shimla, August 24: Amid the deteriorating financial condition of Himachal Pradesh, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu’s Principal Advisor (IT) Gokul Butail has set a great example. He has announced to give up salary and allowances amid the economic crisis in the state. In a letter written to the Chief Secretary, he has said that in the current financial year 2024-25, he will take only one rupee from the government as salary every month.

He has argued that the state is currently facing a financial crisis and in view of this, he has taken this step. He has written in the letter that he will take only one rupee of salary as token money every month during this entire financial year. On his request, the Chief Secretary has issued an order in this regard.

The order states that Gokul Butail, whose salary is Rs 2.5 lakh every month, will take only one rupee. According to the order, Gokul Butail will get a monthly honorarium of Rs. 1 as token money from 1st January 2014 to 31st December 2014.

Let us tell you that after assuming power, the present government gave cabinet rank to Gokul Butail and made him Principal Advisor (IT). He belongs to the Butail family of Palampur. He is the grandson of former Vidhan Sabha Speaker Brij Bihari Lal Butail and nephew of current MLA Ashish Butail from Palampur. Gokul Butail, who studied IT in America, has previously held many posts in the Congress. He is considered close to Rahul Gandhi. He has also been the Joint Secretary of the National Congress.
