Shimla, July 12: In a meeting of the State Cabinet chaired by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Friday, approval was given for land acquisition and compensation to the families affected due to the expansion of Kangra Airport. Apart from this, it was also decided to provide Himachal Pradesh’s share of the capital cost for the construction of Bulk Drug Park in Haroli Assembly Constituency of Una District. Approval has been given to invite tenders for this.

In the meeting of the State Cabinet, approval was given to create and fill 486 posts of Lecturer, Physical Education and 157 additional posts of Principal School Cadre in the Education Department. It has also been decided to fill 245 posts of Special Educator for children with special needs in the Education Department.

The Cabinet also approved to limit the subsidy to ‘one family one meter’ and link the electricity connection to ration card (Aadhar seeded) to rationalize the provision of zero electricity bill for domestic consumers. It has also been decided to end the entire subsidy for the Chief Minister, former Chief Ministers, Speaker of the Assembly, Deputy Speaker, Ministers, former Ministers, MPs, former MPs, MLAs, former MLAs, Board Chairmen, Advisors, OSD, IAS, IPS and HAS officers, besides all first and second category employees of the State Government, Corporations, Boards including Forest and Judicial Officers, all category-A and category-B contractors and all income tax payers.

The Cabinet decided to include additional areas of Retreat, Mashobra, Band Tukda Andri, Shiv Mandir Andri, Tal & Giri, D.P.F. Khalini, B.C.S. Mist Chamber and Parimahal in the green area under Shimla Development Plan.

The Cabinet approved the filling of 53 posts of various categories of fire officers and employees in the Home Department. Approval was given to create and fill 60 posts of various categories of police personnel who will be deployed at heliports in Himachal Pradesh.

In the meeting, approval was given to fill 30 posts of various categories for smooth functioning of Himachal Pradesh State Selection Commission, Hamirpur. It was also decided to fill 30 posts of Junior Office Assistant (IT) in the Public Works Department. It was decided in the meeting that 27 additional posts of Block Development Officer will be filled, which will increase the strength of the cadre to 123.

The Cabinet has decided to regularize 18 Gramin Vidya Upasaks, who have completed three years of service in the Education Department and fulfill the criteria of the National Council for Teacher Education, as Junior Basic Teachers.

Approval has been given to establish a separate Cardiology Department in Dr. Radhakrishnan Medical College, Hamirpur. For its smooth functioning, three posts of Professor, Assistant Professor and Senior Resident Doctors will be created and filled.

In the meeting, approval was given to fill two posts of District Controller, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs in the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department through direct recruitment.

It has been decided to declare the district cadre of Patwari, Kanungo and sub-divisional cadre of Naib Tehsildar in the Revenue Department as state cadre. The Cabinet approved to provide honorarium with three percent annual increase to the employees working in Aryabhatta Geo-Information and Space Center under the aegis of Himachal Science Technology and Environment Council.

The Cabinet also decided to provide child care leave of maximum 730 days during their entire service period to those women government employees whose child has a minimum of 40 percent disability. The Cabinet has approved to start Himachal Pradesh State School Education Award Scheme-2024 to honor teachers for outstanding services. Approval has been given in the meeting to constitute a dedicated state fund for the welfare of persons with disabilities. A recommendation has been made to the Governor for the premature release of 16 prisoners serving life imprisonment.

The Cabinet approved amendment in Himachal Pradesh Motor Vehicles Rules, 1999, under which production of authorized receipt for purchase of two protective headgears certified by Bureau of Indian Standards will be mandatory for registration of two wheelers in the State.

The Cabinet approved setting up of ropeway from taxi parking to Deotsidh temple for the convenience of devotees visiting Baba Balak Nath Temple Deotsidh temple in Hamirpur district.

It has been decided to purchase two PET scan machines each for IGMC Shimla and Dr. Rajendra Prasad Medical College, Tanda and one SPECTScan machine for IGMC Shimla for the convenience of patients.

It was also decided in the meeting to continue the MoU for operating flights between Shiml-Dharamshala seven days a week.
