Mandi, 4 July: Heavy rains in Mandi district have started wreaking havoc in the same manner this time as last year 2023. Due to the flash flood like situation created by the continuous torrential rains in Talehan of Karsog assembly constituency of Mandi district, HRTC buses have also been buried in the debris. At the same time, other vehicles along with HRTC buses are also stuck in the debris.

According to the information received from the local people, these HRTC buses were parked on the roadside in Talehan of Karsog assembly constituency of Mandi district for night stay.

HRTC bus driver Gurdev Sharma said that around 4 am he suddenly heard the sound of heavy amount of water and stones falling from the hill.

On hearing the sound, Gurdev Sharma reached the spot after a while and found that his HRTC buses and other vehicles were stuck in the debris due to heavy debris falling from the hill. These HRTC buses run on the route from Talehan to Shimla and Tatapani.

Gurdev Sharma said that it was raining continuously in Karsog since 2 o’clock in the night and suddenly this debris came from the hill at 4 o’clock in the morning. Along with these HRTC buses, cars and jeeps are also stuck in the debris. The road has been completely uprooted from the place where these vehicles were parked on the roadside.

On the other hand, on talking to MR Karsog Umesh Kumar over the phone, it was found that the machinery of the department has left for the spot to remove the HRTC buses from the debris. The tires of the HRTC buses are stuck in the debris, there is no damage to the HRTC buses.
