India issues warning to students amid increasing violence in Kyrgyzstan

India on Saturday asked its students in Bishkek to stay indoors after violence was reported between some locals and foreigners in the Kyrgyz capital city.

The Indian Embassy in the Central Asian country of Kyrgyz has said that it is in touch with the Indian students and the situation is now improving.

The Indian Embassy asked Indian students in Bishkek city to stay indoors.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar advised Indian students to be in regular touch with the Indian Embassy.

“The welfare of Indian students in Bishkek is being monitored. The situation is now reportedly calm. Strongly advise students to keep in regular touch with the Embassy,” he said in a post on X.

 

The Indian Embassy said, “We are in touch with our students. The situation is currently calm but students are advised to remain indoors for the time being and contact the Embassy in case of any issue.”
