Himachal Pradesh Police is catching people with intoxicants every day. While Himachal Pradesh Police has recovered huge quantity of narcotics, Himachal Pradesh Police has also seized liquor in huge quantity. After the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct, narcotics worth more than Rs 60 lakh have been seized by the Himachal Pradesh Police. Liquor worth more than Rs 26 lakh has also been seized by Himachal Pradesh Police.

According to the information received from Himachal Pradesh Police, Himachal Pradesh Police is in alert mode regarding the Lok Sabha elections and Assembly by-elections to be held on June 1 in Himachal Pradesh. As per the instructions of the Election Commission of India, all security arrangements are being completed by the Himachal Pradesh Police Department. Himachal Pradesh Police seems to be committed to conduct free and fair elections in the entire Himachal Pradesh.

After the implementation of the Code of Conduct in Himachal Pradesh from March 16, till March 30, taking action within 02 weeks, the Himachal Pradesh Police Department has seized illegal liquor and intoxicants worth Rs 1.20 crore. In which 80 cases have been registered under the NDPS Act and 7.05 kg of hashish worth Rs 14.11 lakh, 659.75 grams of heroin worth Rs 46.18 lakh, 6.08 grams of smack worth Rs 6,000, 28,170 intoxicants and 676 grams of opium have been seized by Himachal Pradesh Police.

Apart from this, 248 cases have been registered by Himachal Pradesh Police Department under the Excise Act. In which 3921.712 liters of country liquor worth Rs 11.76 lakh, 2093.65 liters of English liquor worth Rs 14.65 lakh, 475 liters of beer worth Rs 95 thousand and 598 liters of illicit liquor worth Rs 89 thousand have been seized. Apart from this, 82,082 liters of raw liquor has been destroyed.

A campaign has been launched in all the twelve districts to deposit the licensed weapons issued in Himachal Pradesh during the election process. Under which, out of total 1,00,403 licensed weapons issued across Himachal Pradesh, 36,587 (39%) have been deposited.
