Himchal Shocked: Deaf and Mute Girl Raped In Secondary School, Headmaster And Watchman Arrested

Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Sangrah(Sirmour), March 30: A case of sexual harassment of a deaf and mute Multi Task Worker (MTW) has come to light in a secondary school under Sangrah sub-division of Sirmour district of Himachal Pradesh. The most shameful thing is that the Headmaster and watchman of the secondary school committed heinous acts in the temple of education itself. The despicable act was carried out by the Headmaster and watchman of the school in the month of February. Since the saddest thing is that the victim is neither able to speak nor hear (deaf and dumb), hence the Sangrah police is taking the help of experts to record the statement, so that sign language can be used.

At present, it is a matter of investigation whether the crime was committed more than once or not. Sangrah police has also arrested both the accused. On Friday, the anticipatory bail plea of both the accused was canceled by the Himachal Pradesh High Court. Meanwhile, Sangrah police had summoned the acting headmaster of a secondary school of the sub-division, Ganga Ram Sharma, and watchman Daulat Ram to the Sangrah police station for questioning, after which both of them were arrested.

It is also being told that the victim has been working as a multi task worker in the school since last year. The family members had submitted their complaint to DC Sirmour. After this, the Sangrah police registered a case under section 376 of IPC on 24 February. But the accused had filed a petition in the Himachal Pradesh High Court for anticipatory bail. After the bail petition was cancelled, the Sangrah police arrested both the accused.

DSP Sangrah Mukesh Dadwal has confirmed the matter. He told that both the accused will be presented in the Himachal Pradesh High Court on Saturday. After this further action will be implemented.

On the other hand, the Education Department can also take action at its own level. The suspension of the watchman along with the headmaster is also considered certain, and a separate departmental inquiry can also be initiated.
