HP Politics: Rakesh Chaudhary, who contested assembly elections from Dharamshala, resigns from BJP
Rakesh Chaudhary, who will contest from Dharamshala assembly constituency on BJP ticket in 2022, resigned from the party.
Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Yol (Kangra), March 28: Opposition has started against fielding Sudhir Sharma from BJP for by-election from Dharamshala assembly constituency. Rakesh Choudhary, who will contest from Dharamshala assembly constituency on BJP ticket in 2022, resigned from the party. Rakesh announced his resignation along with his supporters at the BJP Mandal office in Yol on Wednesday evening. He said that the resignation has been sent to state BJP president Rajeev Bindal. He said that the party has betrayed him and the party workers by giving ticket to Sudhir without taking him into confidence.

Chaudhary said that when internal divisions within the BJP were at their peak in Dharamshala constituency, he contested against Sudhir from this seat. Now they have been thrown out like flies. Rakesh said that Congress is also in touch with him, if he gets the ticket then he will contest the elections from Congress and if not, he will contest as an independent candidate. Apart from the membership of BJP, Rakesh also resigned from the post of Vice President of State OBC Morcha.
