Good News: People Of Shimla City Will Get Relief From Traffic Jam, Flyover Work Started

But now people will not have to face the problem of traffic jam. To get rid of the jam, the work of the first flyover to be built from Shimla Assembly to Victory Tunnel has started. This information was given by Municipal Corporation Shimla Mayor Surender Chauhan after the FCPC meeting.

Mayor Surender Chauhan said that the flyover to be built from Legislative Assembly to Victory Tunnel will be ready at a cost of Rs 25 crore. Whose length will be 220 meters. The flyover work is likely to be completed in about a year. Municipal Corporation Shimla Mayor Surender Chauhan said that the only way to make Shimla jam free is to build flyovers and tunnels, in which the work of the first flyover is going on war footing. The Mayor said that there are many crossings and intersections in Shimla where there is often jam. People have to face many problems in transportation.

The Mayor said that after the Victory Tunnel flyover from Shimla Assembly, there is a proposal to build a second flyover at Khalini, the work of which will start soon. He said that apart from this, a proposal to build a tunnel from Chhota Shimla to IGMC has also been placed before the government. In which Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has also taken cognizance and its DPR is almost ready.

Today, the monthly meeting of the Contract and Planning Committee was held under the chairmanship of Mayor Surender Chauhan. In which various development works including issuing DA to the employees of the corporation were approved. These include decisions to allot the shops built near Rivoli through lottery and to allot various types of tenders as soon as possible. Surender Chauhan said that in view of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, most of the works have been approved in this meeting, so that the development work is not affected during the election code of conduct.
