Himachal government earned Rs 21.50 lakh in the e-auction of two numbers of 0001 series. Theog RLA (Registration and Licensing Authority) number of Shimla has been sold for Rs 12.50 lakh, while the Swarghat RLA number of Sri Naina Devi has been sold for Rs 9 lakh. Himachal Transport Department has started e-auction of VIP numbers from the month of May last year. Himachal Transport Department has earned more than Rs 10 crore from e-auction of VIP numbers.
The number HP09D-0001 issued for Theog RLA has been acquired by Anil, son of Late Deepram by bidding Rs 12.50 lakh. HP91-0001 issued for Swarghat RLA was acquired by Amit Pal Singh Grewal by bidding Rs 9 lakh. A total of 90 bidders participated in both the bids. Bidding started at Rs 6 lakh instead of the minimum price of Rs 5 lakh. After this it proceeded with Rs 50,000.

Successful bidders will have to deposit their outstanding amount within three days by 13th March. Himachal Transport Department will now release 0001 series numbers for e-auction for RLAs of other districts of Himachal Pradesh after a week. Himachal Transport Department had started e-auction for fancy numbers a week ago on its official website https://himachal.nic.in/transport. E-auction was conducted on Sunday and the results were declared at 5 pm. The minimum bid for these numbers was Rs 5 lakh. Bidders joined the e-auction after depositing Rs 1.50 lakh. The initial registration was kept at Rs 2000.

There is enthusiasm among people to get VIP number. Himachal government has earned an income of Rs 21.50 lakh from two VIP numbers alone. Other VIP numbers will also be restored for e-auction in the coming days.
