Himachal Pradesh Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla congratulated renowned Bollywood film director and producer Vivek Agnihotri on becoming the brand ambassador of Integrated Muscular Dystrophy Rehabilitation Center (IMDRC)-Manav Mandir through video conferencing at Raj Bhavan on Wednesday. The Governor has formally announced this. On this occasion, patients suffering from muscular dystrophy from the center were also present at Raj Bhavan. Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla said in his message that it is a genetic disease, which weakens physical strength with time and the patient becomes dependent on others. He said that treatment is being done in this center through physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, yoga, pranayam and proper care with modern machines. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also specifically mentioned this center in the Mann Ki Baat program and appreciated the services provided by the centre.
Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla expressed hope that with the help of Vivek Agnihotri, wide publicity of the Center will be ensured in the country and the world. Victims who are not aware of this center will also be able to come. At the same time, more and more people will also be helpful in making their contribution by joining the centre. He also appealed to the common people to come forward in the service of humanity by joining the center and providing their valuable services. On this occasion, Vivek Agnihotri joined online and welcomed the Governor. He said that he will play an important role in the promotion of the centre. On this occasion, Uma Baldi, who is providing services at the Integrated Muscular Dystrophy Rehabilitation Centre, welcomed the Governor. Vipul Goyal, suffering from muscular dystrophy, presented the vote of thanks. Lady Governor Janaki Shukla and Secretary to the Governor Rajesh Sharma were also present on the occasion.
