Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said that in the budget he has made an effort to give special strength to the rural economy of the state. The rural economy of the state has not been given any attention in the last several years. It is a matter of greatest concern that people are turning away from agriculture.
Himachal government has resolved to make Himachal self-reliant. This is not a one year budget. It envisages a self-reliant Himachal for many years. CM Sukhu said in the press conference after the budget speech on Saturday that it cannot happen that one class in the state is prosperous and the other class is not questioned.
Every effort has been made to touch all sections of the society in the budget. Farmers are on the streets all over the country. Many provisions have been made in the budget for farmers. Decisions have also been taken after understanding nature and climate. The objective of Himachal Government is to ensure the welfare of all sections of the society.
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said that the Himachal government has increased its tax revenue receipts by 23 percent.
Himachal government is continuously trying to increase its sources of income. The previous governments have not shown courage.
Himachal government has to get Rs 22,406 crore from the Centre, opposition should help: CM Sukhu
CM Sukhu said that a proposal of Rs 9,906 crore has been sent to the Center to compensate for the loss due to the disaster. Rs 8,000 crore is lying with the Center from the employees who switched from NPS to OPS. Himachal Pradesh government is to get Rs 4,500 crore for its share in various projects of BBMB. Overall the state government is to get Rs 22,406 crore. CM Sukhu has asked the opposition to help in bringing the amount of Rs 22,406 crore from the central government.
