The entire incident took place regarding sitting on the VIP seat in the district level Republic Day function.

As soon as the chief guest of the Mandi district level Republic Day function, Harsh Vardhan Chauhan, the present Industries Minister of Himachal Pradesh Government, arrived, former minister and Congress Mandi District President Prakash Chaudhary and other Congress leaders were seated on the VIP Chairs. Mandi Municipal Corporation Mandi Mayor Virendra Bhatt did not get the chair, on which BJP councilors, citing protocol, scolded former minister Prakash Chaudhary. Former Minister Prakash Choudhary also became enraged on this statement of BJP councilors and on the stage itself, a squabble started with Councilor Raja Hardeep Singh in front of Industries Minister of Himachal Pradesh Government, Harshvardhan Chauhan.

The entire matter between former minister Prakash Chaudhary and BJP councilors had worsened so much that it even reached the point of scuffle, but due to intervention, the matter was calmed down.

After the intervention of Himachal Pradesh Government’s Industries Minister Harsh Vardhan Chauhan, a chair was arranged for the Mandi Mayor. Amidst the huge commotion, BJP councilors Raja Hardeep Singh and Virendra Arya left the entire district level Republic Day program and went away from the VIP seat.

Mandi BJP councilor Raja Hardeep Singh told Diary Times correspondent Kumud Sharma that as per protocol, the Municipal Corporation Mayor could have sat on the chair along with Himachal Pradesh Government’s Industries Minister Harshvardhan Chauhan, but the VIP chair was occupied by former minister Prakash Chaudhary. When former minister Prakash Chaudhary was informed about this protocol, former minister Prakash Chaudhary used abusive language with BJP councillors.

The words ‘loser’ and ‘deny’ words have been used earlier by the BJP councillor. Apart from him, there are other leaders in the politics of Himachal Pradesh who have lost the elections but the use of such language on the open platform does not suit the BJP councilors.
